English Teen Book Club

Class Description

Teens will read Scythe by Neal Shusterman over 7 weeks. It is a gripping Young Adult Sci-Fi novel that addresses ethical dilemmas that spark interesting debates as we read. During the book club, the teens will practice vocabulary, write, discuss, and connect with each other in English. The majority of reading will be completed outside of the book club meeting to make space for maximum language practice when we are together. Gabi will provide feedback on their weekly short writing journals to give feedback to even the quietest of discussers. This book club is ideal for a student who can read a novel in English but would benefit from support in speaking and writing more fluently.
